Our basic trauma training and stress management framework consists of two components:
1) Knowledge building modules
Building the foundation knowledge of understanding:
- Basic neuroanatomy (structure and function of brain regions implicated in trauma and stress)
- Introduction to the neurobiology of trauma/stress, cortisol and neuroplasticity
- How the brain responds to acute trauma and stress
- How the brain responds to trauma and stress after the acute phase
- How cortisol mediates/influences neuroplasticity and communication in the brain
2) Skills and solutions modules
Translating the neurobiological knowledge into highly effective skills:
- Emotional processing skills (basic and advanced)
- Cortisol management skills (basic and advanced)
- Cognitive processing skills
- Effective internal and external communication skills
- Standard operating procedures for addressing and managing trauma and stress (both acute and chronic)
The education and skills delivered in our training packages are different from conventional trauma informed practices.
Our approach is a neurobiological one!
Neurobiological Knowledge
Neurobiological Solutions
What are the benefits to a neurobiological approach?
The knowledge and skills learned through NFS are ones that can be effectively applied to any and all situations, and enable each individual to process the cognitive and emotional aspects of the situation autonomously, safely and with confidence. A fundamental part of feeling confident to address any conflict is understanding why that individual thinks and feels the way they do in response to certain information. We teach people how to understand the neurobiological reasons why, which helps people feel in control of the decisions they make next and the confidence to generate solutions.
We want to help your organisation reach its full potential by helping your team, the heart and powerhouse of your organisation, to feel confident, successful, empowered and valued.
A happy team is = business longevity and productivity!
